Workshop with Nick Holley

Agenda and background

This workshop will examine what differentiates commercial HR people from those who simply do HR.

We will explore the ten traits of great HR professionals providing participants with a practical toolkit they can use against each element to add value in their organisation. Whilst the programme is aimed at HR practitioners it won’t focus on the nuts and bolts of HR but on how HR can make a bigger commercial impact.

Programme

The program is divided into four parts.

1. The purpose of HR and how to translate strategy into organisational capability

2. Value creation

3. The HR response

4. Personal implications. Specifically political savvy and integrity

Nick Holley has 27 years experience in business, in line and HR leadership roles. In the last twelve years Nick has worked with over 100 organisations in 35 countries (including Norway and all the Nordics!) as a coach, consultant and educator. At Henley Business School he was a visiting professor and ran the Centre for HR Excellence for ten years and is now Director of Learning at the Corporate Research Forum, an HR network with 210 members across Europe. 

He has researched and published extensively and was voted the fifth most influential thinker in HR by Human Resources Magazine. He brings a rare combination of theory but also practical experience of how to do this in major organisations.
